AIHS offers 7 Diploma programmes and 5 Certificate programmes across Nursing, Midwifery, Clinical Medicine and Community Health, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Dental Health Practice, and Medical Records — plus Short Courses, a Mentorship Programme, Exchange Learning Programmes, and a Fellowship Programme for continuing professional development.

CBET is AIHS's approach to training: Africentric, person-centred, and focused on building practical competencies rather than theory alone, combining comprehensive academic study with extensive clinical practice.

AIHS is based in Namulaba, Ddundu Parish, Kyampisi, Mukono District, Uganda — a peri-urban community between Kampala and the wider rural communities of Mukono.

Requirements vary by programme. Most Diploma and Certificate programmes require Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE); some Short Courses accept relevant professional registration or work experience instead. A limited number of fully funded and part-funded places are available for the Fellowship Programme through institutional and development partner agreements. Contact Admissions to ask about current scholarship opportunities for other programmes.

The 2027/2028 academic year begins with new student reporting from 11–15 January 2027, followed by orientation and the start of Semester I lectures on 18 January 2027. See the Academic Calendar for full dates.

Yes. The campus includes student accommodation designed to support residential learning, alongside a Sick Bay, library, and other student support facilities.
