AIHS commits to advancing knowledge, improving health practice, and creating lasting impact in communities. The Research and Innovation arm leads and coordinates the Institute's research agenda, fosters innovation, and promotes the generation of evidence based on community lived realities that inform policy, education, and practice. Working collaboratively with students, tutors, researchers, communities, and local and international partners, the Institute aims to strengthen research capacity, support innovative solutions to emerging health challenges, and facilitate knowledge exchange — translating research into meaningful action that improves health outcomes and contributes to sustainable community development.
Our research agenda is aligned with national, regional, and global health research priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), organised around five focus pillars:
AIHS is building research partnerships with local and international institutions and organisations to strengthen research capacity and facilitate knowledge exchange. Details of confirmed partnerships will be published here as they are established.
Faculty and students at AIHS engage in research grounded in community realities and aligned with our focus areas above. Featured studies, publications, and student research projects will be added here as they are published.
